Office of Research and Grants
The Office of Research and Grants (ORG) promotes, supports, and celebrates research and grant opportunities to advance the Scholarship Cornerstone of Azusa Pacific University. While a main focus of ORG is assisting faculty in identifying, acquiring, and managing external grant resources, ORG also supervises the Undergraduate Research Program, through which undergraduate students who engage in research with faculty may apply for travel grants to present findings at professional conferences. The Undergraduate Research Program also promotes undergraduate research partnerships with faculty through annual awards provided by the Scholarly Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) initiative. ORG facilitates campus-wide celebratory research symposia and oversees the Center for Research on Ethics and Values, which promotes faculty scholarship that works with ethics and values across a variety of disciplines to positively impact culture. ORG also promotes ethical practices in research through its oversight of the Institutional Review Board and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, entities that review APU research involving human and animal subjects.
